His earliest profession was a teacher served at the primary and secondary schools in Perak, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Malaysia from 1980 to 1989. He was then appointed as Assistant Headmaster, Curriculum Coordinator of District Education Office Central Perak, and, Key Personnel of the Integrated Curriculum for Secondary Schools Malaysia (KBSM), Department of Education Perak. He joint IIUM on 2nd October 1989 until now.
He taught various courses and supervised academic works of the Bachelor of Education, Postgraduate Diploma of Education, Master of Education, Doctor of Philosophy of Education, especially in the area of Educational Leadership & Administration, Philosophy of Education, Sociology of Education, Pedagogy of History Education, and, Teacher Professionalism.
