I am actively engaged in research in Natural Product Chemistry with a strong focus on drug discovery and development from natural resources. My research interests include the isolation of bioactive compounds, optimisation of extraction and separation techniques, and the development of natural-based cosmetic formulations. A major component of my work involves the extraction, isolation, and characterisation of phytochemicals from various natural sources, including plants, marine organisms, animals, and actinomycetes. I employ bioassay-guided isolation approaches together with a range of separation techniques, such as liquid-liquid and solid-liquid extraction methods, to identify compounds with potential biological activities.
