Abstract

The Malaysian Education Development Plan (2013-2025) emphasizes leadership transformation to address contemporary challenges in education. Teachers of different ages and backgrounds may have different perspectives and approaches to teaching, which can lead to certain issues. The main objective of this study is to investigate the effect of Principal Collaborative Leadership (PCL) on Teachers' Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in a secondary school in Johor, Malaysia. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The transcripts were analyzed thematically, yielding three main themes: 1) Improving the quality of the school environment through extra-role behaviors, 2) Facilitating the development of collaborative skills and academic improvement, and 3) Managing teachers' emotions. Findings show that effective collaborative leadership can increase teachers' extrarole behaviors, potentially increasing student achievement. The paper concludes with the influence of PCL practices for OCB teachers has been proven to improve educational practices as well as efforts to improve school quality.
