AHM Zahirul Alam received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1984 and 1987, respectively. He obtained his Doctor of Engineering degree from Kanazawa University, Japan in 1996. He was working as a faculty member in BUET from 1985 to 1991 and from 1996 to March 2002. He became a professor in BUET in 1999. He worked in the MIRAI project in Low-k group in Advanced Semiconductor Research Center, Tsukuba, Japan through Japan Science and Technology fellow from April 2002 to October 2003. AHM Zahirul Alam received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1984 and 1987, respectively. He obtained his Doctor of Engineering degree from Kanazawa University, Japan in 1996. He was working as a faculty member in BUET from 1985 to 1991 and from 1996 to March 2002. He became a professor in BUET in 1999. He worked in the MIRAI project in Low-k group in Advanced Semiconductor Research Center, Tsukuba, Japan through Japan Science and Technology fellow from April 2002 to October 2003. He is currently serving as a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). His research interest includes electronic device modeling and fabrication, RF devices and MEMS, Energy harvesting system, antenna and communication devices. Professor Alam has published many journal articles and conference proceedings. He has also secured many research grants from various sources. Professor Alam has granted a patent. Professor Alam is a life fellow of the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) and Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS), a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK, Chartered Engineer, Engineering Council, UK and member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG). Professor Alam has published more than 200 papers in referred journals and conference proceedings and many book chapters in various books. He was editor of the Journal of Electrical Engineering, the Institution of Engineers, and Bangladesh (IEB). He was a member of the Editorial Board of the International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering (ICCCE). Professor Alam is actively involved in organizing conferences like ICCCE, IEEE International Conference on Smart Instrumentation, Measurement and Applications, (ICSIMA), IEEE International Conference on Semiconductor Electronics (ICSE) and IEEE Regional Symposium on Micro and Nano Electronics (RSM). He was also involved in ICEEICT 2014, AMPT 2009, DTVCS 2008-2009, ICOM 2008 ICECE 2008, ICICT2007 conferences committee. He was also involved in various conferences and exhibitions website management and online submission system. Professor Alam was awarded faculty of Engineering, IIUM best lecturer in 2008.
