Abstract
Challenges of the youths in our society are tremendously increasing as they witness an abundance of mischief such as moral decadence, juvenile delinquency, criminal acts including cheating, deceitful manners, robbery, drug abuse, drug trafficking, drug abuse, alcoholism, illegal gambling, brawls, fracas, disgraceful inter-religious misconduct, and many other social vices. Societies are moving towards crimes and socially unacceptable conduct. This is a result of an absence of moralities and ethical values, being simultaneously generated in our youths. The responsibility of training and overhauling by good parents and the society is tremendously reduced. In fact, the attitude of the communities and parents towards the moral and social welfare of the children is painfully regrettable. Such an attitude has negative consequences on the morality, health, and responsibility of the future leaders of any society. Parents are critical figures in a household, and they play a vital role in shaping the character of children, and to their continuation to the larger society.
On the other hand, some of the social institutions, which are supposed to be shouldering the responsibilities of care and the responsibility for these establishments and the society in terms of moral and ethical values, are either irresponsible or partially effective in the youth. Under all these circumstances, the youth are heading towards depravity and disagreeable acts towards themselves, parents, elders, and the society. Finally, all these processes suggest the best solution to how these challenges could be tackled appropriately. Shaping the future leaders of a nation is the responsibility of parents, teachers, religious leaders, and the members of the society. This paper highlights the roles and responsibilities of all these stakeholders in developing good children, a process that needs to be taken seriously by all for many reasons. The author believes this paper will serve as an eye-opener by assisting in shaping future leaders.
