Abstract
This book examines the development and challenges of Arabic speaking skills within the Malaysian education system, spanning from schools to universities from the 1980s to the present day. It explores the significant role of International Islamic University Malaysia in promoting and strengthening the Arabic language in Malaysia. The book also traces the historical evolution of Arabic language education in the country, highlighting the processes through which Arabic became an integral component of the national curriculum. In addition, it discusses various strategies for teaching and learning Arabic speaking skills, presents Ibn Khaldun’s theory of malakah (language mastery and habit formation), and demonstrates its practical application in the development of Arabic communicative competence.
