Abstract

The present study is to understand the impact of pandemic situation, which involved Nursing (NUS) and Allied Health Sciences (ALLHS) student of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) who are experiencing blended learning due to COVID-19. A survey was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning among NUS and ALLHS students for Semester 1, 2020/2021, which was conducted in January 2021. In total 174 responses were collected and analyzed via descriptive and frequency analysis. The questionnaires were developed based on four variables: 1) Learning, 2) Instructor, 3) Online session and 4) Overall rating. The outcomes of this study show that the three variables have important contributions in the effectiveness of the blended learning towards students who experienced the face-to-face and online sessions throughout Semester 1, 2020/2021. Furthermore, this study revealed that students appreciated online learning because the session was engaging and effective as face-to-face session, which is in line with SDG-4 in ensuring the education quality during the pandemic situation.
