Abstract

This paper and address reflect on the claim of obscurity and inconsistency in the Qur’an and Sunnah. It clearly refutes the claim and call for deeper understanding of the characteristics and organic Unity of the Qur’an. Any segmentation of the Quranic text and its coherence will lead to obscurity and Mushkil Al-Quran. The paper argued that classical Muslim scholars were able to develop systematic approaches to the study of the Qur’an. The contemporary Muslim scholars should be able to develop suitable approaches to left and clarify the claims of obscurity in our times. Combining the classical methods and contemporary approaches gives more chances to our scholars to dealt with obscurity in more dynamic and systematic ways.
