Abstract

Mitos budaya paling lama yang bertahan sehingga hari ini bagi bangsa Yahudi ialah idea tentang “tanah yang dijanjikan” atau the promised land. Propaganda bahawa “Palestin sebagai tanah air Yahudi itu benar” berterusan hingga hari ini. Hal ini termasuk dalam kajian Biblical Study yang terus-menerus menafikan hak sejarah purba Palestin. Menurut Keith W. Whitelam (1996), kajian Bible tidak pernah memberikan peluang untuk membincangkan alam purba Palestin yang dihuni oleh bangsa Kan’an. Bangsa ini diakui sebagai proto Arab oleh kebanyakan ahli sejarah genealogi sebagai pemilik asal bumi Palestin.
