Abstract

This integrative review analyzes the multifaceted challenges of Arabic vocabulary acquisition and evaluates the pedagogical potential of Augmented Reality (AR) as a transformative solution. While Arabic’s unique linguistic characteristics—including root based morphology and complex orthography—often hinder non-native learners, traditional rote-based instruction has failed to provide sustainable engagement. Through a systematic synthesis of contemporary literature and theoretical models such as TAM, UTAUT, and TPACK, this study identifies teacher acceptance and readiness as the primary mediating factors for successful technology integration. The review moves beyond a narrative summary by employing a thematic analysis to construct a conceptual framework tailored for Malaysian private primary schools. The findings underscore the necessity of institutional support and localized digital content to bridge the "digital divide" in religious education. This work contributes to the field by providing a theoretical roadmap for educators and policymakers seeking to modernize Second Language (L2) Arabic instruction.
