Abstract
This book, Mathematics 1 (MTCF 0114), was written for sciences students who take Mathematics 1 as one of their core courses at the Centre for Foundation Studies, IIUM. The goal of this book is to give students the basic knowledge, abilities and proficiency in mathematics. The subjects covered in this book include a review of algebra, equations, inequalities, functions and their graphs, polynomial and rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometric functions, matrices, and systems of linear equations.
