Dr. Erna Normaya Abdullah is an Associate Professor at International Islamic University Malaysia. She received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2015. Her primary research interest is to help the community by developing a cost-effective, movable, and easy-to-handle eco-friendly sensor for detecting toxic elements in environmental water, which requires no special training. This research follows the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of providing clean water and sanitation for the community. Besides chemosensor research, she also conducts research for the oil and gas industry to solve corrosion problems by using an organic inhibitor, which is more environmentally friendly.
