Datin Seri Dr Ar Norwina Mohd Nawawi is currently a Senior Academic Fellow at the Department of Architecture, Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She was an Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture in KAED from 1st April 1998-July 2008 (as a seconded officer from JKR) and as a contract staff -Associate Professor from July 2008 to 31 July 2020. Norwina was a council member of PAM from 2001-2003. At PAM, under the SCR committee, she and her team initiated the Think Tank group for health as well as the volunteer research group to work on the pandemic design guidelines for the built environment in Malaysia. She is also representing PAM with Ar Mumtazah at ARCASIA and the UIA for Universal Design. Prior to joining IIUM, Norwina had worked in the Public Works Department (JKR) as a Senior Architect since 1979 for 29 years, including as a seconded officer to the Ministry of Health Malaysia as part of the project management Team for the ADB loan redevelopment project of 12 existing hospitals.
