Abstract
Subcutaneous tissue masses or swellings are one of the most common presentations in primary care. Common causes of subcutaneous tissue mass are lipoma, liposarcoma, angiolipoma, neurofibroma and neurofibromatosis. Madelung’s disease (MD) is a rare disease worldwide, especially among Asians and particularly in Malaysia. Prevalence is 1: 25,000, and it mainly affects males from the Mediterranean and European region (male:female ratio of 15-30:1), though a few Asian cases have been reported.
