Abstract

Salamat Musa is an Egyptian writer with many writings both in book forms and Articles, containing his views and perceptions towards the renewal of Arabic Language. The intriguing nature of those thoughts draw together threads of research in this area. Thus, this study aims to examine those thoughts has found in one of his books. There are three section headings in this research with an introduction in the beginning and a conclusion at the end of it all. Methods used in carrying out this research are mainly two namely, Descriptive method to understand and explain those views as portrayed by the writer. While Critical method was also used to examine the writer’s views thoroughly. With these two methods, the writer’s ideas concerning the renewal of Arabic language will be dissected. However, this study finally concludes that Salamat Musa views on the renewal of Arabic language has some potential goodness that is capable of propelling Arabic language forward. As there are many of those thoughts that can bring down Arabic language and debase its people. This research then suggests that all the stakeholders of Arabic language; either the born Arabs or the Arabs by career, they should all prioritize the renewal of Arabic language, so that this language could be relevant with the dictates of our modern age. As there should be a need for all that are concerned with the Arabic language to be more vigilant about all the ploys designed by the Westerners or the westernized Arabs with the intent to truncate the future of this language and ruin its present moment.
