Abstract
COVID-19 has become a worldwide issue that correlates with the expansion of work and family issues such as work-family conflict and job satisfaction in relation to personality trait at work. Therefore, the objective of our study was to investigate the relationship between work-family conflict, accommodative and indulgence personality and job satisfaction among employees, specifically the Malay employees. A total of 305 married Malay employees with at least a child under 6 years old were recruited via purposive sampling in the present cross-sectional survey-based study. The participants answered online questionnaires consisting of the Work-family Conflict Scale, Malay Work-Based Personality Inventory, and Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire. The results indicated that accommodative (r =.55) and indulgence personality (r =.62) were positively correlated with job satisfaction, while work-family conflict was negatively correlated with job satisfaction (r = -.20) among Malay employees. The findings suggest that results from this study may provide a reference for the policy makers to design specific strategies for this target group in coping with work and family issues during the pandemic.
