Abstract

In this Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) National Chapter Indonesia on the research activity called ALSA Indonesia Specialized Research Team (AISRT), the author discusses the extent of implementation of the Personal Data Protection Act in Malaysia. The discussion centers that the following questions: Whether there are any regulations and authorities that govern personal data protection in your country or not? What are the main principles of personal data protection regulation in your country? What are the opportunities and challenges regarding personal data protection in your country? What is the significance of this regulation to protect personal data in your country? How is the implementation of the ASEAN Framework on Personal Data Protection concerning the protection of personal data in the business process in your country?
