Abstract

The genus Beilschmiedia belongs to the family Lauraceae and consists of evergreen trees and shrubs distributed mainly in tropical and subtropical regions, including Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Americas. This genus includes over 287 species, many of which are valued for their timber, medicinal properties, and ecological importance. Beilschmiedia species are known to produce a variety of bioactive secondary metabolites, including alkaloids, flavonoids, and lignans, which have been reported to exhibit antimicrobial, antifungal, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities. Some species are traditionally used in folk medicine for treating infections, inflammation, and gastrointestinal disorders.
