Abstract
This paper discusses the evolution of the doctrine of the first creation in religions of Abrahamic faith, especially Christianity and Islam, Christianity with the concept of Logos and Prototokos, and Islam with the understanding of Light of Muḥammad (Nūr Muḥammad or Ḥaqīqat alMuḥammadiyyah). The development of these concepts exerts an impact in shaping the faith of these religions, especially on Christians and Muslims sufis and Shī‘ites. This research employs the qualitative methodology in which materials that include holy scriptures, books, journal articles, and others are investigated and compared. Findings reveal that this doctrine exists in each religion, although it is absent in the religious scriptures of the Hebrew Bible, New Testaments, and the Qur‘ān. The issue is due to the method of allegorical interpretation of certain verses of the scriptures that originated from Plato. This doctrine develops on the same framework of Neoplatonism despite different names of personalities.
