Abstract
This article empirically studies Hindu views and perceptions about Islam and Muslims in Selangor. It applies qualitative and quantitative methods in data collection. It inspires Malaysian citizens, especially Hindus, to understand the factors that led to misperceptions. It gives insights into the relationship between them. It provides Muslims with the data to strategise to eliminate Hindus' misunderstandings and promote the nation's religious, racial, and social harmony, particularly Selangor. It begins with a brief description of the historical background of Hindus in Malaysia, the coming of Hindus during British rule and their position in the contemporary era. It analyses [1] Hindus' general knowledge about Islam, [2]] their observation concerning Islam and Muslims in Selangor, [3] their understanding of Islam as an official religion, and [4} their views and perceptions about Islam and Muslims in Selangor.
