Abstract

Ibnu Manzur dalam kitabnya lisaan al- Arab telah membincangkan makna kalimah Allah ini dengan panjang lebar. Perkataan `Allah` pada hakikatnya berasal dari perkataan إِلاَهٌ berasal dari wazan فِعَالٌ yang kemudian berubah ke wazan مَفْعُوْلٌ atau مَأْلُوْهٌ bermakna yang disembah . Adapun arab jahiliyah telah menggunakan perkataan لَاهِ dengan membuang perkataan `lam` kedua pada kalimah Allah, kerana kalimah Allah ini mempunyai tiga huruf `lam`
