Abstract
This paper discusses the Malaysia’s experience and approach in dealing with the problem of racial polarization by making policy development as a core strategy especially in the aftermath of independence in 1957. In achieving its objective, the paper deliberates among others on the following sub-topics: 1) definition of "racial polarization" and of National Development, 2) the history of development in Malaysia, and 3) the impact and achievements. Having discussed the above in detail, the paper ended with a proposed list of priorities that are crucial for Malaysia to take into account in its way to achieve the status of an advanced nation along this aspiration. These include technological and military advancement, spiritual and moral progress, educational and scientific development and progress in rational and realistic thinking.
