Abstract
Annotated Bibliography of the First Three Rectors of the International Islamic University Malaysia is designed to compile the biographies, and putting on record, annotating and illustrating the precious works of these three highly acclaimed scholars who led the University to various pinnacles in her journey throughout her early decades. The first of three, this volume focuses on the contributions of al-Marḥūm Professor Tan Sri Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rauf, who served the IIUM as her first Rector from 1983 to 1988. Many among us neither had the chance to learn and drink from the fountain of his vast knowledge, experiences and wisdom, nor had met him in person to walk about being in his midst. We believe, having this book in our hands, and feasting on the information presented on its pages is next to best in learning from and about his experiences and knowledge. Presented in three languages, English, Arabic and Bahasa Melayu, we hope that the book serves as a great resource for students, researchers, academics and anyone who aspire to delve deeper into the life and works of al-Marḥūm Professor Muhammad Abdul Rauf, the highly learned and involved, acclaimed global scholar who was the pioneering Rector of the International Islamic University Malaysia.
