Abstract

Ming Hanedanlığı’nın üçüncü İmparatoru Yung-lo dönemi imparatorluk donanmasının amirali Zheng He (Cheng Ho / 关P 和）liderliğinde gerçekleştirilen yedi önemli deniz seferi, Doğu ve Batı arasında siyasal, toplumsal, ekonomik ve bilimsel gelişmeleri kendi doğallığı içerisinde ele almayı sağlamaktadır. Söz konusu bu denizcilik süreçleri, Çin tarihinde milattan öncesi dönemlere kadar uzanan Kara İpek Yolu ticaret güzergahının, Hint Okyanusu eksenli okyanuşaşırı denizcilik boyutuna tekabül edecek şekilde Deniz İpek Yolu olarak adlandırılmayı hak eder. Küresel çapta önem arz eden bu denizcilik süreçlerini yöneten Zheng He, denizci, bürokrat, elçi ve devlet adamı olarak tarihe ismini yazdırmıştır. Bu gelişme, aynı zamanda Zheng He’nin sahip olduğu bireysel özelliklerin yanı sıra, içinde yer aldığı siyasal ve toplumsal sistemin de dikkatle ele alınmasını gerektirir. The seven important naval expeditions led by Zheng He (Cheng Ho / 关P和）, the admiral of the imperial navy during the reign of the third Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Yung-lo, provide a natural way to examine political, social, economic and scientific developments between the East and the West. These maritime processes deserve to be called the Maritime Silk Road, corresponding to the transoceanic maritime dimension centered on the Indian Ocean of the Land Silk Road trade route that dates back to the pre-Christian period in Chinese history. Zheng He, who managed these maritime processes of global importance, made his name in history as a sailor, bureaucrat, ambassador and statesman.
