Abstract
This edited book, entitled Muslims of Central Eurasia Since the 19th Century: Daily Life, Identity, Intellectual Thought, and Education, covers over one hundred years of history related to Muslim societies in Central Eurasia, the region corresponds to the states that emerged from the ruins of communism. The concept behind this edited volume, with a variety of chapters wrien by prominent scholars in Islamic history, thought, culture, and education from different postcommunist countries in Central Eurasia, was born during the 5th Forum of Muslim Scholars from the CIS countries “The Past and Future of Islamic Thought in the CIS Countries: Prospects for Reforms and Integration of Knowledge,” held on 1–8 August 2022 in Istanbul, Türkiye, and was organized by the Institute of Knowledge Integration (IKI, Georgia) and the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT, USA). The book consists of 15 chapters and focuses on Muslims’ educational, social, and intellectual activities in various parts of the region since the mid19th century.
