Abstract
NOORThis study aims to examine the issue of gender dysphoria and its position through the lens ofinterest (Maslahah) in Islam. The study adopts library research that explores diversecategories of gender dysphoria together with its factors and impacts. The study reveals variousfactors and negative impacts resulting from this condition. Based on the analysis, by applyingthe concept of interest (Maslahah), it proves that Islam doesn’t perceive gender dysphoria asan interest that needs to be recognized. This is due to its questionable factors and negativeimpacts on various aspects of human life that are proven to be harmful not only for short-termpurposes but also for long-term purposes, for that matter. It is hoped that this paper will give abetter understanding of the issue and will benefit society by providing the answer sought bymany, especially the Muslim community, who are curious about the position of genderdysphoria in Islam.
