Abstract
This study explores the concept of Quranic humanism and its role in societal transformation as reflected in the Urdu and Persian poetry of Iqbal. Iqbal’s poetic thought is deeply rooted in the teachings of the Holy Quran, which he regarded as the ultimate source of spiritual guidance, human dignity, and social reconstruction. Through a critical analysis of selected Urdu and Persian poetic works, this study examines how Iqbal reinterprets Quranic principles such as human equality, selfhood (Khudi), justice, freedom, compassion, and collective welfare. The research argues that Iqbal’s concept of humanism differs from secular humanism as it is grounded in divine revelation and moral responsibility. His poetry seeks to awaken individuals to their spiritual potential while encouraging active participation in the reform of society. Iqbal envisions an ideal social order based on Quranic values that promote ethical leadership, social justice, unity, and intellectual development. The study further highlights the relevance of Iqbal’s Quranic humanism in addressing contemporary challenges such as moral decline, social inequality, and cultural disintegration. It concludes that Iqbal’s poetic vision offers a comprehensive framework for individual empowerment and societal transformation, making his thought significant for modern discussions on human development and social progress.
