Abstract

The genus Ardisia spp., belonging to the Primulaceae family, encapsulates a diverse group of over 500 species of flowering plants, including evergreen shrubs and small trees. It is widely distributed across tropical and subtropical regions, particularly in Asia, the Americas, and the Pacific Islands. Many species within this genus have been traditionally used in herbal medicine because of their potential active ingredients with therapeutic properties. In Asian cultures, extracts from the Ardisia species are employed to treat various ailments, including rheumatism, respiratory infections, and digestive disorders.
