Abstract
It is well known to scholars in general, and to those engaged in scientific research in particular, that understanding the methodologies of authors in their books and writings is of paramount importance, and that it significantly influences their approach and engagement with them. This study focuses on highlighting the methodology of Sheikh Abdullah al-Farsi in his renowned translation of the meanings of the Holy Qur'an into Swahili. To achieve this objective, the researcher adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, tracing the author's expressions, both in their wording and meaning, whether found in the main text of the translation or in the footnotes. The researchers then extracted the linguistic and scholarly methods he employed to achieve his goal in this work through careful observation and analysis. Among the most important findings of the researchers is that Sheikh al-Farsi followed five methodologies in his commentary that can be categorized into two main areas: the lexical and structural area, which includes two approaches: the linguistic approach and the divine text approach; and the content area, which comprises three approaches: the nurturing approach, the jurisprudential approach, and the critical approach.
