Rahmah is a distinguished Senior Professor of Arabic Literature at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), where she has held various academic and administrative roles. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Al Azhar in Egypt, a Master's from the University of Jordan, and a PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. Her notable career includes serving as the Director of Education Malaysia Division at the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia from April 2019 to May 2020, where she significantly contributed to the internationalization of Malaysian higher education, drafting four policy papers and implementing 43 national initiatives.
