Dr Saiful 'Arifin Bin Shafiee

Assistant Professor

Chemistry

International Islamic University Malaysia

Electroanalytical chemistry, Analytical chemistry

Dr Saiful Arifin has a Diploma in Science and Bachelor degree in Environmental Technology minor in Occupational Safety and Health from Universiti Teknologi MARA. He then obtained a PhD degree from the University of Southampton, UK where he focused on fabricating metal nitride microelectrodes to be used as sensors to detect peroxodisulfate anions. He was a visiting scholar at The University of Texas at Austin where he learnt the steps to prepare and characterise microelectrodes and nanoelectrodes. Later, he worked as a researcher at GP Batteries (M) Sdn Bhd in an attempt to improve the electrochemical performance of 9V alkaline batteries. He was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the International Islamic University Malaysia in Jan 2020. His research interests are microelectrodes, biosemore...
