He received his first degree in Shariah from the University of Al-Azhar. He then successfully completed his Master Degree in Islamic Economics from Yarmouk University, Jordan and obtained his PhD in Fiqh and Usul-al Fiqh from the International Islamic University in Malaysia. He teaches several subjects such as Islamic Jurisprudence, Contemporary Fiqh Issues, Islamic Law of Transaction and Islamic Finance.
In July 2010, he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors, at the Institute of Islamic Banking & Finance (IIBF), International Islamic University of Malaysia. He is the academic advisor to the Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU) and a member of the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).
