Abstract
The medical staffs who work in the angiography room are exposed to scattered-radiation doses during the angiographic procedures. Therefore, the staffs are at risk of developing radiation-induced cataracts. Understanding the occupational eye scattered-radiation doses in the angiography procedures is important. It helps to estimate the risk of radiation injuries to the eyes and to suggest the appropriate recommendations. However, it is important to relate the issue with the heights of eyes in the Malaysian population. This review was conducted to study the patterns of scattered-radiation doses in the angiography room to the staff’s eyes and to find out the common heights of eyes in the Malaysian population. Then, both findings were related and discussed. Relevant articles were searched and included in this review. In conclusion, the review highlighted the needs of studying the scattered-radiation doses with respect to the Malaysian heights.
