Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic is a crisis that has transformed many things in life. Any type of crisis can be a traumatic experience leading to anxiety and fears. Now that Covid-19 is pervasive within the community, the battle to fight the pandemic is upon the shoulder of every person to ensure we take the responsibility to follow all SOPs to protect ourselves and others around us. Covid-19 crisis has led to educators in the nation go through the process of redefining education. This crisis makes changes inevitable. For months now, the school system has been under a great challenge. For the first time in history, the national exams were cancelled (UPSR & PT3) and delayed (SPM). Schools are again in session but from home. Digital education is ideal especially if it is hybrid. The reality is while our preparation can be pushed and rushed, our readiness is not. Teachers, parents and students struggle to cope with the new culture of learning on line. Most older children pick up IT skills quickly and get adjusted to on line classroom easily. But the Year One pupils entering in 2020 were only in school for a few months. Now they are in Year Two with the expectation that they have mastered reading, writing and arithmetic. A new batch of year one 2021 is entering school for the first time on line. How can this transition be eased?
