Abstract
My introduction will highlight some personal reflections on my work on election campaign discourse in a non-western context within the Critical Discourse Studies (CDS) framework. I will briefly discuss some of my concerns (and confusion) while researching issues that are absent from the theoretical or analytical radar of Western scholars but important in the non-western world.
