Abstract

The research is a part of a paper entitled : The teaching of Arabic Script in Malaysian Education System, which is intended to be presented during the coming Sub Regional Symposium on the Incorporation of the Languages of Asian Muslim Peoples into the Standardised Quranic Script Project (SQSP) in Kuala Lumpur. The research is aimed at knowing the importance of implementing the teaching of jawi from the perspectives of the teachers and the school administration. It is also menat to seek the level of commitment from the teachers who are involved in teaching this subject and the implementaion processes that are involved and the perception on the success of the teaching of jawi among the students.
