Abstract

This contribution documents selected marine and estuarine fishes recorded from the Selat Johor, southernmost coast of Peninsular Malaysia, based on field surveys and taxonomic examination. The species accounts provide diagnostic morphological characters, size information, geographic distribution, and specimen records to support accurate species identification and biodiversity documentation. The contribution includes species from families such as Ariidae and Nemipteridae, including Hexanematichthys sagor, Pseudosciades sona, Osteogeneiosus militaris, Pentapodus setosus, Scolopsis monogramma, Scolopsis taenioptera, and Scolopsis vosmeri. These records contribute to the comprehensive documentation of the marine and estuarine fish diversity of Selat Johor and provide baseline taxonomic information for fisheries research, biodiversity assessment, and conservation management.
