Abstract
Agents of Change Towards Sustainability (ACTS): Journey of Making a Difference: From Whole Person to Whole Society Transformation documents the International Islamic University Malaysia’s (IIUM) transformative educational and community‑engagement initiative known as Usrah in Action. This edited volume compiles experiential narratives and reflective case studies from academicians, practitioners, students, and community partners who collectively act as agents of change in advancing sustainability, social responsibility, and human development. Grounded in the whole‑person education philosophy, the book illustrates how individual values, ethics, spirituality, and competencies are cultivated and translated into whole‑society transformation through real‑world engagement. The chapters span institutional change, community empowerment, and personal transformation, addressing diverse themes such as education for sustainable development (ESD), health and wellbeing, women empowerment, environmental stewardship, refugee education, rural and indigenous community engagement, and capacity building for resilient societies.
