Abstract
The publication of the Garis Panduan Industri Robotik (Guidelines for Work in the Robotics Industry) 2025 by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) represents a proactive commitment to managing risks in the Safety 5.0 era. As industrial landscapes shift toward autonomous and intelligent systems, humans and robots are now required to share workspaces, which makes conventional engineering controls insufficient for worker protection. This transition introduces complex human-robot interaction (HRI) risks, including vigilance decrement, complacency, and "automation surprise". To address these challenges, the guidelines give emphasis to the principle of prevention through design (PtD), ensuring that robotic systems possess intrinsic safety features such as Adaptive Safety Zones. Ultimately, achieving a safe and sustainable work environment requires a strategic balance between technological advancement and human factor principles.
