Abstract

The increasing demand for employability-driven language education has underscored the need to align English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) curricula with real labor market requirements. This study employs a bibliometric approach to analyze research trends, thematic patterns, and scholarly structures in EOP-related publications, highlighting the evolving role of curriculum design in supporting workforce readiness. Data were retrieved from Scopus using the keywords “EOP,” “ESP,” “English for employment,” and “English at workplace,” yielding 880 documents published between 2020 and 2025. Data were refined using OpenRefine, and analyzed using Scopus Analyzer and VOSviewer. Findings reveal consistent growth in EOP research emphasizing employability, curriculum innovation, and workplace communication. Malaysia, the United States, and China emerged as leading contributors, demonstrating the field’s global expansion. This study concludes that EOP curriculum development must go beyond linguistic training to integrate employability skills, ensuring relevance to industry demands.
