Abstract
Aim of Research: This study examined the role of technology, specifically AI-driven adaptive learning tools, in alleviating workload stress, improving time management, and enhancing teaching efficiency among lecturers in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Research Design / Research Method: A quantitative approach was employed, using surveys to collect data from university lecturers across Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Pahang who actively use AI-driven adaptive learning technologies Findings / Result: The findings reveal notable variations in self-efficacy across different academic tasks, with teaching self-efficacy being the most stable and research-related self-efficacy showing greater variability. While lecturers reported moderate levels of emotional exhaustion, their sense of personal achievement remained high, suggesting resilience despite potential stressors. Research Limitation / Implication: The sample consists of lecturers with varying levels of teaching and research experience, different academic qualifications, and diverse fields of expertise. This study highlights the need to consider other factors that contribute to educators’ confidence in their teaching abilities. Institutions should consider evidence-based interventions that align with lecturers' specific needs to enhance their overall confidence and effectiveness in academia. Originality: To the best of the authors' knowledge, this study is may bridge the gap between the challenges of lecturer burnout and the advancements in AI technologies that have been implemented in higher education settings.
