Abstract
IIUM has had its own set of university required courses (UniCORE) since its inception. These are courses that are required to be taken by all IIUM undergraduate students aiming to provide the students with a foundation of an Islamic worldview that will enable them to participate in the Islamisation and integration process. Along the way, skill courses were also made compulsory to nurture more holistic graduates. However, there was never a unified set of university required courses, with different Kulliyyahs having different sets of courses, and some courses had 0 (zero) credit hours. The UniCORE 2017 package was devised to address these issues. The acronym “UniCORE” was used to denote the important role these courses play in the student learning process.
