Abstract
ةيملاسلإا ةيلالما تاسسؤلما ،جلحا قودنص ،يجاح غنوبتا :ةيحاتفلما تاملكلا The Hajj Fund (Tabung Haji) stands as one of the most prominent Islamic financial institutions in Malaysia. After half a century of activity in Islamic finance, it is imperative to shed light on its establishment and development stages to benefit from and replicate its experience. This research aims to highlight the developmental trajectory of the Hajj Fund, exploring multiple facets of its activities and contributions to the Islamic finance sector. The study presents a conceptual and historical overview of the Hajj Fund, beginning with the state of Hajj affairs in Malaysia before the Fund's establishment, followed by a comprehensive statement of the Fund's objectives, reasons for its establishment, main functions, and its relationship with the Malaysian government and the central bank. Furthermore, the research includes a thorough analysis of the Fund's evolution starting from its inception in 1963, its legislative development to keep up with new developments, the growth in the number of depositors and deposited funds year after year, and its investments in various fields to ensure the maximum possible return, along with the expansion of its services with the adoption of information technology. Using descriptive, historical and analytical methodologies, the research concludes that the Hajj Fund has succeeded in maintaining its esteemed position among Islamic financial institutions in Malaysia by adapting to contemporary developments in the Islamic finance sector and sustainable development, effectively enhancing financial development in the country. The research recommends leveraging this experience as a pioneering model in financial participation to achieve promising developmental goals.
