Abstract

In this chapter, we also explain rules that apply to a claimant who wants to recover financial loss, otherwise known as economic loss or pure economic loss, in contradiction to physical injury, emotional injury or damage to property, which are traditionally dealt with under the rules of negligence and its essential elements. It is instructive to note that our preoccupation in this chapter is the subject of economic loss, which is gleaned from perspectives on Malaysian tort law and case law.
