Abstract
Cultural diplomacy is not about just promoting the arts and performances of a country. of course, the visible - and more interesting - facet of cultural diplomacy is in the movies that we see, the music that we hear and the food promotions in which we partake. Cultural diplomacy can also be found in the work ethics of a country or culture that we emulate, or the immersive heritage of a country's tourism. But more than that, cultural diplomacy has an intellectual side: a robust academic discourse that has grounded the study of culture within mainstream studies. One such key component of cultural diplomacy is the cultural intelligence that diplomats today must have to navigate the perilous terrain of diplomacy in a complex multicultural world.
