Abstract
Rapid urbanization has transformed the land use pattern to focus more on housing development but less towards improving the outdoor spaces and green infrastructure (GI) for low-cost housings. The research explores opportunities for GI in Pangsapuri Kenanga, Gombak Permai as PR4-type low-cost flat in the Gombak district. It identifies limitations in the existing development and challenges faced by the community. Consequently, it proposes GI design solutions for optimal use of the spaces to benefit the community, their social activities, the environment or even the economy. It is aimed at shared prosperity, well-being, and societal harmony for the B40 community. It makes calls to the government, developers, and local authorities to modify their approach to a more healthy, quality, and sustainable housing development.
