Abstract

Procrastination can be defined as an unnecessarily delayed activity, and individuals experience extreme agitation when they start thinking about it, such as late submission and pressure to finish the work or assignment. Considering that the previous research did not fully address gender that impacts procrastination, thus this research aims to determine if there is a relationship between gender and procrastination. Also, to compare the level of procrastination among male and female Kulliyyah of Education (KOED) students in IIUM. The data of this study were collected through a questionnaire using the Procrastination Scale by Lay (1986) using a 5-Likert Scale. The sample of this survey consists of 51 students (25 male, 26 female students) under the different courses in Kulliyyah of Education in IIUM. The data for this study were analysed using correlational analysis as well as t-test. The results show that students of Kulliyyah of Education are at a moderate level of procrastination, and it was concluded that males tend to procrastinate more than females. The limitation and improvements are discussed in this study.
