Abstract

Researchers at International Islamic University Malaysia are investigating whether the prognosis of severe head injury patients improves with the early surgical opening of the windpipe to help wean them off mechanical ventilation. The aim is to provide an evidence base for updating guidelines on how to wean severe head injury patients off mechanical ventilation.
