Abstract

Qualitative analysis is a process of breaking down qualitative data into smaller units in order to make sense of the data. The analysis process involves describing, grouping the data according to themes, and establishing or recognizing the inter-relatedness of the grouped data (the themes). The process of collecting and analyzing the data is not done according structured sequence but rather the process is recursive. Data can be analysed using inductive reasoning when researcher aims to develop a grounded theory. Qualitative data also can be collected and analyze to test a theory; this way deductive reasoning is used to analyse the data. Doing qualitative analysis is to find in-depth meaning of a particular phenomenon , thus interpretation of meaning is an important step in qualitative data analysis.
