Abstract

COVID19 pandemic has altered mode of teaching and learning in Malaysia and all over the world for the past two years. All physical class activities have shifted to virtual mode. Prior to the pandemic, students who are attending World Religions 1 class at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) are assessed on their knowledge via physical visit to houses of worship at the nearby locality. With movement restriction imposed in Malaysia during this period the assessment is now shifted virtually. Similar assessment is conducted. Interestingly, the changing of mode has contributed positively to the students’ learning experiences. Not only they are able to complete the tasks assigned to them successfully, they are also able expand the locality of those houses of worship. By being virtual they are now able to connect with houses of worship all over the world. The COVID19 pandemic has changed the mode of assessment this course and provide the students with better opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in a wider setting.
